What is Autism Level One?
Those who would have previously met the criteria for Asperger syndrome are now diagnosed with level 1 ASD. There is no difference between Asperger’s and autism level 1 diagnoses. The National Institute of Mental Health defines Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave. Autism can be diagnosed at any age, but it typically appears within the first 2 years of life.
Sanctuary Centers Treats Autism Spectrum Disorder
At Sanctuary Centers, we offer treatments for Autism Level One. Our approach to treating ASD includes behavioral, developmental, social, and cognitive interventions, which are then coupled with individual and group therapies designed to provide a path toward educational and vocational pursuits.
