Sanctuary Centers’ Latest Community Benefit Project

In the heart of Santa Barbara, a transformative vision over a decade in the making is about to become a reality. Thanks to the success of the Get Well Initiative, Sanctuary Centers is one step closer to actualizing our latest community benefit project, which will deliver 34 units of supportive housing for individuals living with mental illness. Residents will have access to integrated health supports including case management, medical, dental, and behavioral health care, just outside their door.

We recognize that integrated systems of care are the next frontier of mental health treatment. Sanctuary Centers remains committed to delivering whole-person care,  reducing barriers to medical and behavioral health services for individuals living with mental illness. This natural evolution of services will expand Sanctuary Centers’ existing housing and behavioral health programs into a comprehensive model of care.

Our Response: A Supportive Housing Solution

Sanctuary Centers’ latest community benefit project will provide safe, secure, and supportive housing for adults living with mental illness, enabling them to live with dignity and independence. This initiative is about more than just walls and windows; it’s about building a foundation for recovery, resilience, and reconnection with the community.

Features of the Project:

    • 34 units of Supportive Housing: Each unit is designed with the understanding that a stable, welcoming home environment is crucial for mental health and well-being.
    • Integrated Health Clinic: A fully equipped health clinic will provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and specialty care. This integrated care model ensures that residents have immediate access to the comprehensive care they need, all under one roof.
    • On-site Behavioral Health Care: Residents will have access to comprehensive mental health care including individual and group therapy, psychiatry, and Co-Occurring Disorder treatment.
    • Community Spaces: To foster community and support amongst residents, the building will include communal areas for socialization, group therapy, workshops, and recreational activities. These spaces are vital for building a supportive community network among residents.

Learn About Naming Opportunities

Your Name on a Building, Lobby, or Garden

We’re actively seeking individuals interested in naming opportunities at the new building project and existing housing sites. This is your chance to cement a lasting legacy while supporting an organization close to your heart.

If you or someone you know would like to learn more about available naming opportunities, please email Lola Ban West, Director of Marketing & Development at Development@sanctuarycenters.org.

“This is more than a building project; it’s an investment in human potential, community health, and a brighter, more inclusive future.”
